Fuel Up to Play 60 in Connecticut: Zaide

Zaide.
Zaide.

What does Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP 60) look like in your backyard?

Since FUTP 60 is a nationwide, student-led healthy eating and physical activity program, we wanted to highlight your local student advocates.

Below, we chatted with Connecticut’s 2016-17 FUTP 60 State Ambassador Zaide.

Overall, what has been your favorite memory from being involved in the FUTP 60 program?
My favorite memory was the 2016 New England FUTP 60 Summit.

Why did you initially want to become a FUTP 60 State Ambassador?
I wanted to be a leader for my state and school.

What types of projects has your school’s FUTP 60 team accomplished?
We have done mini fundraisers and we also have a Fit Week.

For Fit Week, I was the leader for the greenhouse project where we grew chia sprouts, lettuce, and had citrus trees that we cared for.

As an outgoing state ambassador, how do you plan on remaining involved in the FUTP 60 program?
I am going to stay in the club at my school. I would be happy to talk to other kids that interested in being state ambassadors to tell them about my experience at the summit.

What is your favorite:

  • Way to get active? Soccer.
  • Healthy snack? Smoothies.
  • Hobby? Skiing.
  • School subject? Math.

What do you want to be when you’re older?
A marine biologist.
