What’s it like to be a state ambassador? We’re rolling out the red carpet to introduce you to our five Fuel Up to Play 60 State Ambassadors throughout New England. First up: Travis!
Hi! I am Travis Pepin your Vermont Fuel Up To Play 60 Ambassador.
As the ambassador for Vermont, I travelled to Gillette Stadium in June for the local Fuel Up To Play 60 Reward Celebration to learn leadership skills and how to talk in front of a crowd. I also learned skills that helped me coach a group of other kids in the program the next day. When I got my group, I had to lead them to food and physical activities throughout the stadium. I would have never been able to do that without the help of the Fuel Up To Play 60 program. Another thing we did was tour the stadium, which was amazing!
In July, I also went to the 2017 Student Ambassador Summit in Minnesota. We were there for four days. In that time we had to perform on stage, which made me nervous, but the program has helped me step up and do things that I would have never done. It was such an amazing experience that I will never forget.
I’m excited to help teach the kids at Troy Elementary what I’ve learned from the program and to step up, exercise, and eat healthy!
